El centro de buceo, Great White Sharks of Guadalupe Island, ubicado en la Isla de Guadalupe, México, ofrece una experiencia inolvidable de buceo con tiburones blancos. Certificado por SSI, el centro se especializa en cursos como Rescue Diver, Divemaster y Buceo de Barco. Sus instalaciones incluyen duchas, WiFi, bar, alojamiento, piscina, alquiler de equipos, tienda de buceo y llenado de aire (nitrox).
La actividad principal del centro consiste en bucear en jaulas sumergibles únicas diseñadas para una interacción natural y segura con tiburones blancos. Las inmersiones se realizan a profundidades donde los tiburones se congregan naturalmente, ofreciendo hasta 3 inmersiones al día con tiempo de buceo prácticamente ilimitado. La visibilidad excepcional del agua cristalina y la presencia de 366 tiburones blancos identificados garantizan encuentros cercanos y emocionantes.
Actualmente, debido a acciones del Gobierno de México, la Isla de Guadalupe está temporalmente cerrada al turismo y al buceo con tiburones blancos. El centro mantiene informados a sus clientes a través de boletines y ofrece alternativas emocionantes como expediciones a Socorro para encuentros con mantarrayas gigantes y tiburones, y a Cocos, la Isla de los Tiburones. El centro asegura que se comunicarán futuras aperturas y, mientras tanto, invita a explorar otros destinos de encuentros con tiburones.
La seguridad es primordial, con buceo realizado mediante sistemas de aire suministrado desde la superficie (hookah) y jaulas diseñadas a medida que garantizan la protección tanto de los buceadores como de los tiburones. Se requiere que los buceadores permanezcan dentro de las jaulas en todo momento, y se recomienda el uso de arneses de lastre según el peso corporal y el tipo de traje de neopreno. Los buceadores están acompañados por un divemaster para garantizar la seguridad y maximizar las oportunidades de avistamiento de tiburones.

Yes, all diving is done using a hookah system (surface-supplied air) and custom-designed cages that provide maximum protection for both divers and sharks. Divemasters accompany all dives for safety and to enhance shark sightings. Each cage is equipped with backup scuba gear for emergencies.
Guadalupe Island offers beautiful clear blue water with 100-150 feet (30-45 meters) of visibility, allowing for excellent viewing of the great white sharks from a distance.
Certified divers can expect an average of 3 dives per day in the submersible cages. The surface cages offer virtually unlimited diving time, allowing guests to spend as much time as they wish in the water with the sharks.
A 5-7mm wetsuit is generally adequate, with hoods, hooded vests, and extra gloves available for loan. Divers are recommended to use DUI weight harnesses with approximately 40 lbs of lead, depending on their weight and wetsuit type. Divemasters can assist with equipment.
In the event of temporary closures, such as the current one due to government action, the operators offer alternative shark encounter experiences in destinations like Socorro and Cocos Island. They also encourage subscribing to their newsletter for updates on Guadalupe's reopening.
Voyages are typically 5 nights/6 days, with three full days spent on station at Guadalupe Island to maximize shark encounters. Longer combo-trips of 10 or 15 nights are also available, combining Guadalupe with other destinations.
