Cursos Disponibles
5 cursosOpen Water Diver
The Open Water course at Deep Fin is run in Las Galletas, the diving hub of Tenerife's south coast. Theory and confined water sessions are handled at the centre's base before moving to open water dives from the Astec C VD-750 Pro. The practical dives take place at sites inside the Teno-Rasca Special Conservation Area — Playa Maravilla is the go-to for confined-water-equivalent sessions at 12 m, with morays, octopus and reef fish in shallow volcanic terrain. The course is delivered by instructors certified with both SSI and PADI. Deep Fin is the first SSI International centre in Las Galletas, so SSI students get their qualification logged through an internationally recognised affiliate. Alfonso Reverón Sebares has been diving this coast since childhood and his knowledge of the southwest sites shapes how the course is structured around conditions and site selection. Groups are kept small — that's a consistent principle across everything Deep Fin does. The pace adapts to each student rather than pushing everyone through a fixed schedule. For the open water dives, certified sites include Playa Maravilla and other Open Water-rated points on the list, ranging to 20-25 m once students progress. At €410, resident discounts apply on request. Documentation (medical declaration form) needs to be completed before the course starts — available for download from the centre's site and submittable by email or WhatsApp. The centre handles all logistics including equipment, so students only need to show up.
Bautizo de Buceo
The standard baptism at Deep Fin runs 30 minutes underwater and is done entirely from the boat, which leaves from Marina del Sur, Pantalán 3 in Las Galletas. Before entering the water, the instructor walks you through the basics: how the regulator works, how to equalise, and the hand signals you'll use during the dive. It's a short briefing — enough to get you comfortable, not so much that it feels like a classroom. Once in the water, the instructor stays at your side throughout. The dive is kept shallow and at a pace that lets you actually look around rather than just manage your buoyancy. The volcanic seabed in this part of Tenerife's southwest coast is full of morays, octopus, and reef fish — what you see depends on the site chosen for the day, but the marine protected status of the Teno-Rasca zone means the life here is dense. Alphonso Reverón Sebares, who grew up diving these waters from the age of ten, leads the team. That local knowledge shows in how sites are matched to conditions and group experience. There's no pressure to rush or go deeper than you're comfortable with. The 80€ price covers the baptism itself with instructor. Equipment is included as the centre provides everything needed. Resident discounts apply — worth asking when booking. If you want more time underwater, the Premium option extends the immersion to 50 minutes.
Advanced Open Water
The Advanced course at Deep Fin opens up the deeper and more varied sites on the southwest coast that are off-limits to Open Water divers. Cruz San Miguel at 40 m, Coral Negro at 40 m, El Champiñón at 35 m, Cueva de las Morenas at 35 m — these are the kind of sites that become accessible after completing this certification, and several of them are specifically marked on Deep Fin's dive site list as Advanced-rated. Salidas are from the Astec C VD-750 Pro, the centre's dedicated dive boat based at Marina del Sur, Pantalán 3. The southwest corner of Tenerife inside the Teno-Rasca ZEC has consistent water temperatures — 19°C minimum in winter, 25°C in September — and the visibility that makes deeper dives here worth doing. El Meridián, the main wreck on their site list, is highlighted as an Advanced site and a photography location. For divers interested in underwater photography, this course is the gateway to the sites where it makes most sense. Alfonso Reverón Sebares and Juan Francisco Reverón handle photography during dives when conditions allow. Priced at €370 with resident discounts available. The instruction is SSI and PADI certified. As with all courses at Deep Fin, the medical declaration form must be completed before diving — the centre provides it in digital format for signature via Adobe Fill & Sign.
Diver React Right
Diver React Right is Deep Fin's first aid and emergency response course for divers, priced at €90 as a standalone. It covers the immediate response actions in diving emergencies — oxygen administration, CPR, and emergency protocols. Short and focused, it's often taken alongside Diver Stress & Rescue, and the centre offers the combined package at €430. The course is run from the Las Galletas base. It doesn't require boat time — the practical components are land-based and structured around realistic dive emergency scenarios. Instructor certification is through SSI and PADI. For divers who dive regularly or travel to dive, having this alongside an Open Water or Advanced certification is practical. It's one of the lower-cost specialty options in the Deep Fin course catalogue and pairs logically with rescue training. Resident discounts apply.
Diver Stress & Rescue
The Stress and Rescue course at Deep Fin is run in the same waters where the centre does all its guided diving — the southwest coast of Tenerife inside the Teno-Rasca marine protected zone. Training in a real environment rather than a pool-only setting means the skills are practiced in the actual conditions where they'd be needed: Atlantic water, boat-based operations, and the varied topography of volcanic reef sites. The course covers recognising and managing stress in divers, self-rescue techniques, and assisting other divers in difficulty. It's a significant step up in diver confidence and is commonly taken by divers who plan to dive regularly or want to consider divemaster training later. Deep Fin delivers this through instructors certified with both SSI and PADI. Groups are small by policy, which means more direct time with the instructor during practice scenarios. At €380, a resident discount is available on request. A combined package with Diver React Right (first aid) is offered at €430 for both courses together. The medical declaration must be completed before starting. Documentation is available from the centre in digital format and can be submitted before arrival.
