Sobre el Centro

The Portuguese Centre for Underwater Activities (CPAS), founded in 1953 in Lisbon, Portugal, is a non-profit association dedicated to the promotion and teaching of underwater techniques. With a rich 70-year history, CPAS is recognized as a Public Utility Entity and an Environmental Non-Governmental Organization (ENGO), actively contributing to the preservation of submerged historical heritage and the development of scientific knowledge in areas such as archaeology, marine biology, marine ecology, and diving medicine.

CPAS offers a comprehensive range of diving training, certified by SSI, including specialized courses such as Enriched Air Nitrox and Technical Diving. Divers can also take advantage of the opportunity for night dives. The center's facilities include a dive equipment shop, equipment rental services, air and nitrox fills (up to 70% oxygen) from a high-quality compressor, lockers, a swimming pool for training and practice, and a bar.

The center also houses a municipal museum dedicated to underwater life, with three exhibition nuclei focusing on Underwater Archaeology, Marine Biology, and Diving Equipment. Additionally, it features a space for recreational boating, multipurpose rooms, and a training tank. CPAS, based in Lisbon, is a benchmark for underwater activities, uniting training, marine environment preservation, and scientific dissemination.
