TIV — Technicien en Inspection Visuelle
The TIV qualification trains divers to carry out visual inspection of scuba cylinders and service cylinder valves. It's a technical certification within the FFESSM framework, distinct from recreational or instructor training, and one of the less common offerings in club programmes. At Sevran Plongée, having this on the curriculum makes sense given the club's 40-cylinder inventory. Yes. Sevran Plongée operates as an FFESSM-affiliated club under French association law, so participation requires an annual membership. Memberships for the 2025–2026 season are open.
14 years old for baptisms and junior training. Parents must be present for all minors.
The club has 40 complete scuba sets available, including regulators and BCDs. Members don't need their own gear to participate in pool sessions.
The club trains from Niveau 1 through Niveau 3 independently, and supports candidates for Niveau 4 (guide de palanquée), club instructor (E1), and federal monitor through to exam. Nitrox and RIFAP first aid are also offered.
Yes. Freediving sessions run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 20:30, alongside finswimming. There are structured introductory and progression courses in addition to open training slots.
One weeklong sea trip is scheduled each year, with full board included. Additional day and weekend outings go to quarries and inland sites through the season. The club also organises 3–4 trips per year overall.
The season runs September to June. Pool sessions are held at L'Aquarena in Sevran (opened January 2026) and the Club de Mitry as backup. Outdoor trips follow a calendar published at the start of the season.
