Formation Étanche (Drysuit)

L'Océana VSM runs drysuit training through the winter months, taking advantage of the colder Atlantic water to give the course practical relevance. The Arcachon basin in winter is a genuine drysuit environment, so students are learning in conditions where the equipment actually makes a difference.

The course covers drysuit buoyancy management, inflation and deflation techniques, and the additional considerations for under-suit layering. The centre has been offering this training since at least 2018 based on published content, and the winter scheduling is a deliberate choice to align theory with conditions.

The centre can organise bespoke group stages — contact them directly to arrange dates and group size. Individual sessions can also be scheduled on request. Equipment used during training is available for rental from the centre's stock.
