Descripción del Curso
The TOSSA DE MAR (Nivel 1 y 2) freediving courses offered by Miguel Ozano provide a comprehensive introduction and progression in the discipline. Nivel 1 is designed for absolute beginners, focusing on fundamental breath-hold techniques, relaxation methods, and essential safety protocols. Nivel 2 builds upon this foundation, allowing participants to refine their skills and potentially explore greater depths and longer breath-holds. Both levels emphasize correct technique and safety, equipping students for responsible freediving. The curriculum typically includes theoretical classroom sessions, practical pool training for finning and equalization, and open water dives to apply learned skills in a real environment.
Tossa de Mar offers an excellent coastal setting for freediving training. While specific visibility data is not provided, the region's waters are generally conducive to learning. The sea temperature can vary significantly throughout the year, ranging from approximately 9.9°C in January to a peak of around 19.5°C, with warmer months like July and August offering more comfortable conditions for extended water time. This variability means that appropriate thermal protection is often recommended depending on the season.
Miguel Ozano is a certified training center recognized by CMAS, IDEA, and SSI, ensuring a high standard of instruction and certification. The center offers courses in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Italian, catering to a diverse international student base. While specific instructor-to-student ratios are not detailed, the emphasis on safety and technique suggests a commitment to personalized attention. The center's location in Tossa de Mar provides direct access to suitable open water sites for practical training.
Participants in the Nivel 1 course will learn the basics of breath-hold, equalization, and efficient movement, aiming to achieve introductory freedives with growing confidence. Nivel 2 participants will advance their capabilities, focusing on improving breath-hold duration and dive depth while maintaining strict safety standards. The progression through these levels is structured to build a solid understanding and practical application of freediving principles, fostering a deeper connection with the underwater world.
