The PADI Freediver course at Dive Dive Company in Calpe offers a foundational introduction to breath-hold diving, focusing on the serene experience of connecting with the underwater world without the sound of bubbles. This program is designed for individuals who have enjoyed snorkeling and wish to explore deeper, experiencing the tranquility and unique sensations of freediving. You will learn essential relaxation and breath-hold techniques, proper equalization methods for descending, efficient finning, and the critical importance of the buddy system for safety. The objective is to safely extend your breath-hold capabilities beyond your current limits, opening up new possibilities for underwater exploration.

Calpe provides an exceptional environment for this initiation into freediving. The course includes two open water dives, reaching depths between 10 and 16 meters, allowing you to access areas previously unreachable by snorkelers. These practical sessions are scheduled to begin every Wednesday and Saturday, ensuring flexibility for participants. The digital learning materials, all necessary freediving equipment for practice, and mandatory insurance are included in the course fee of 249 EUR, making it a comprehensive package for aspiring freedivers.

Upon successful completion of the PADI Freediver course, you will be certified to dive safely with a buddy to depths of 10 to 16 meters. This certification unlocks the ability to observe marine life more closely and experience the underwater realm with a profound sense of peace and control. The course emphasizes mastering static apnea, aiming for a minimum of 90 seconds, and dynamic apnea, requiring a minimum swim of 25 meters. These skills are honed through dedicated practice and expert instruction.

The practical component of the course spans two days, following the theoretical knowledge gained through PADI's digital platform. Participants will engage in static apnea exercises, dynamic apnea swimming, and the two open water dives. The average sea temperature in Calpe hovers around 20.8°C, offering comfortable conditions for extended practice sessions throughout much of the year. For instance, July and August typically see air temperatures reaching 26-27°C, with sea temperatures remaining pleasant for diving.
