Descripción del Curso
The Altitude Diver specialty course offered by ASD Club Sub Amici del Mare is specifically designed for divers looking to explore the unique environments of high-altitude lakes and dive sites. Diving at altitude presents distinct physiological challenges compared to sea-level diving, and this specialized training provides the essential knowledge and skills to navigate these conditions safely. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of how reduced atmospheric pressure at higher elevations impacts dive planning, gas management, and decompression procedures.
Key learning objectives include understanding the relationship between altitude and pressure, mastering the adjustments needed for dive tables or dive computers when diving at altitude, and recognizing the signs and symptoms of altitude-related diving illnesses. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on adopting conservative dive profiles and maintaining careful monitoring throughout each dive. This specialty is crucial for anyone planning to dive in locations such as mountain lakes or high-altitude reservoirs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience in these distinct aquatic settings.
ASD Club Sub Amici del Mare, a CMAS-certified center, delivers this specialty with a focus on practical application. The course includes practical training dives conducted at a designated high-altitude location. Under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor, participants will apply the learned principles, practicing safe ascent and descent profiles and effectively managing their air supply in the thinner atmosphere. This hands-on approach ensures divers are well-prepared for the specific demands of altitude diving.
While specific details on water temperature, visibility, or typical marine life at the high-altitude dive sites are not provided in the input data, the course content inherently addresses the challenges posed by these environments. The focus remains on the physiological adaptations and dive planning adjustments required. The center's commitment to safety and specialized training is evident in offering this niche specialty, allowing divers to expand their exploration possibilities beyond traditional sea-level environments. This course unlocks access to a different dimension of underwater exploration.
