The SSI Wreck Diving specialty course offered by Buceo Galicia provides essential training for exploring submerged historical sites. This specialty focuses on the techniques and knowledge required to safely plan and execute dives on shipwrecks. You will learn about wreck penetration guidelines, safety procedures, and how to navigate these intriguing underwater environments. This course is often a prerequisite for more advanced diving programs, making it a valuable step in your diving education.

Galicia's waters offer a unique environment for wreck diving. While specific monthly temperatures are not detailed for this course, the average sea temperature is around 15.6°C, with air temperatures varying significantly throughout the year. For instance, July and August see the warmest air temperatures, reaching up to 20.5°C, which can make surface intervals more comfortable. Understanding these conditions is part of the preparation for diving in this region.

Buceo Galicia is certified by multiple agencies including IDEA, PADI, and SSI, ensuring a high standard of training. The center offers instruction in several languages, including German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian, catering to a diverse international clientele. This multilingual approach ensures that students can fully grasp the course material and safety protocols.

This specialty course builds upon foundational diving skills. Participants should have a recognized open water certification. The curriculum emphasizes understanding the unique risks associated with wreck diving, such as entanglement and silt-out, and how to mitigate them. Proper planning, equipment considerations, and emergency procedures are thoroughly covered to ensure divers can explore these underwater historical sites responsibly and safely.
