Descripción del Curso
The PADI Deep Diver specialty course, offered by Excel Scuba Tenerife, is designed to safely extend your underwater exploration limits. This specialty certification allows you to plan and execute dives to depths of 40 meters (130 feet), significantly beyond the standard recreational limit of 18 meters (60 feet). You will gain essential knowledge on the physiological effects of deep diving, including nitrogen narcosis and gas management, crucial for maintaining safety and awareness at greater depths. The course emphasizes meticulous planning and the correct use of specialized equipment, such as dive computers, to mitigate the inherent risks of deeper dives.
Excel Scuba Tenerife leverages the diverse underwater topography of the island for this specialty, providing a dynamic training environment. The curriculum includes four practical dives, allowing ample opportunity to hone your skills under the direct supervision of a PADI instructor. These dives are structured to build confidence in managing air supply, recognizing narcosis symptoms, and executing deep dives responsibly. This specialty is particularly beneficial for divers aiming to explore deeper shipwrecks, dramatic walls, or other fascinating underwater features that lie beyond typical recreational depths, opening up a wider array of dive sites globally.
Tenerife's waters offer a consistent diving environment, with sea temperatures averaging around 21°C, making it suitable for deep diving practices throughout much of the year. While specific dive site details are arranged by the center, the island's varied underwater landscapes provide excellent opportunities for applying deep diving techniques. The course requires participants to be at least 15 years old and hold a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent, ensuring a solid foundation for advanced training.
This PADI Deep Diver specialty is a logical progression for certified divers seeking to enhance their capabilities and explore more challenging environments. It directly builds upon the skills acquired during your Advanced Open Water course, preparing you for advanced recreational diving activities worldwide. Successfully completing this specialty not only expands your personal diving boundaries but also instills a deeper understanding of the planning and safety protocols necessary for deep-water exploration.
