PADI Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver course at Scubafriends Tenerife sits at the top of the recreational ladder before the professional track begins. It is the course the center lists as a prerequisite for the Divemaster program, which gives an indication of how seriously the Rescue certification is treated in their curriculum.

The course combines theory with practical scenarios — managing tired or panicking divers, surface tows, missing diver searches, and emergency oxygen use. Tenerife's clear Atlantic water makes skills practice straightforward without the visibility limitations that can complicate rescue scenarios elsewhere.

An EFR (Emergency First Response) certification in CPR and first aid is required before starting the Rescue course. The center offers EFR training as a standalone program. Instruction is available in Italian, Spanish, and English.
