The discover scuba dive at Sea&Sun runs entirely in the sea — no pool introduction, straight into the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Marine Reserve off La Isleta del Moro. Since December 2025, Spanish law requires one instructor per participant, which is exactly how Sea&Sun runs it: you get a personal instructor for yourself alone throughout the whole session.

The session starts on the beach with a briefing covering the equipment and basic safety exercises. You put on your gear at the water's edge, do the first exercises with the water at waist level, and only head deeper once you are comfortable breathing through the regulator with your face underwater. The whole process is paced to how you feel, not to a fixed schedule.

Once ready, you spend between 45 minutes and an hour exploring the seabed of the marine reserve with your instructor beside you the entire time. The park's posidonia meadows, starfish and fish species are typically what you encounter on the dive. The total activity, including the briefing, exercises and dive, runs around 2.5 to 3 hours.

At the end you receive a certificate of your discover scuba dive. The 95€ price includes your personal instructor, all equipment and the activity insurance. Minimum age is 12. Payment is accepted via Bizum, PayPal, bank transfer or card.

If you want to continue after the baptism, the centre offers the entry-level certification course for 350€ as a follow-on — the difference from the 95€ bautismo price is deducted, making the step up straightforward.
