OPEN WATER

The PADI Open Water Diver course at Poggi Sub is your gateway to exploring the underwater world, certifying you to dive up to 18 meters. This foundational certification involves five practical pool sessions, typically spread over four evenings, each lasting around 1.5 hours. Following the pool training, you will complete four open water dives. These dives can take place in various environments, including the sea, a deep thermal pool like Y-40, or a lake, offering a diverse training experience. Poggi Sub provides flexibility in scheduling, allowing you to progress at your own pace through this initial scuba diving certification.

This course requires participants to be at least 10 years old, with parental consent for minors. While comfort in the water is necessary, advanced swimming skills are not a prerequisite. A medical certificate confirming fitness for non-competitive aquatic activities is mandatory. For pool sessions, you will need your own mask, snorkel, fins with boots, and cap. The open water dives require a 5mm wetsuit with a hood, though rental may be available. Poggi Sub supplies the BCD, regulators, and tank for all dives, and includes a dive computer for the open water sessions.

Learning is facilitated through a digital manual, enabling flexible study from home with online review quizzes and the final exam. In-person sessions with your instructor are available upon request for clarification. The entire course duration, with flexible attendance, is approximately 30 days.
