The PADI Sidemount specialty at Buceo Pichicuy teaches you to configure cylinders along your sides rather than on your back — a setup that changes your hydrodynamics, improves trim, and makes certain dive environments significantly more accessible. The center covers both the gear configuration and the diving techniques specific to sidemount in a recreational context.
For divers who've struggled with back-mount buoyancy or who want to explore more streamlined diving, sidemount offers a genuinely different experience underwater — not just a gear swap. Trim, cylinder management, and regulator redundancy all work differently and take practice to get right.
The course costs CLP $240,000. No eLearning option is listed for this specialty.
It counts toward the five specialties required for the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification.
