Night Diver

The PADI Night Diver specialty at Buceo Pichicuy runs after dark at the center's local dive sites around Caleta de Pichicuy. The biodiversity focus that runs through everything Buceo Pichicuy does makes this a course with real substance here — nocturnal marine behavior in a site the instructors know well means you're not just doing navigation drills in the dark.

The course covers torch techniques, night navigation with compass and natural references, buddy communication in low visibility, and how to identify the behavioral changes in marine life that happen after sunset. Crustaceans, cephalopods, and other nocturnal species that stay hidden during the day are what make these dives genuinely different from daytime profiles at the same site.

eLearning is available for the theory component. The course costs CLP $200,000.

Night diving at a site you already know from daytime dives is the recommended starting point — the familiarity with the terrain makes the darkness manageable rather than disorienting.
