Open Water Diver

The Open Water Diver certification is your gateway to exploring the underwater world, and Manta Diving Valencia offers this globally recognized entry-level scuba course. Upon completion, you will be qualified to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). This comprehensive program is structured into three key phases: knowledge development, confined water training, and open water dives. You will gain a solid understanding of dive theory, equipment use, safety protocols, and environmental awareness, preparing you for real-world diving scenarios.

Your training will begin with mastering fundamental scuba skills in a controlled environment, typically a pool or shallow, calm water. Here, you will practice essential techniques such as assembling and using your gear, clearing your mask, recovering your regulator, and achieving neutral buoyancy. These skills are the bedrock of safe and enjoyable diving, ensuring you feel confident before venturing into open water.

The course culminates with four open water dives conducted at local dive sites near Valencia. Under the direct supervision of your instructor, you will apply the skills learned in confined water to real diving conditions. This is where you truly begin to explore the marine environment, practicing navigation, buoyancy control, and problem-solving in a dynamic setting. The average sea temperature in Valencia ranges from 11.5°C in December to 26.9°C in August, offering comfortable conditions for much of the year.
