Advanced Open Water Diver AOWD

The PADI Advanced Open Water at AlisioSub runs 2–3 days and consists of five adventure dives. Two are mandatory — deep diving and underwater navigation with a compass — and the remaining three are chosen from a wider menu that includes wreck diving, search and recovery, and underwater photography, among others. With a wreck catalog in Puerto del Carmen that includes up to six vessels accessible in a single dive, and sites like Richie's Place and Veril de Fariones available to Advanced-certified divers, there's no shortage of material for the optional adventure dives.

Deep diving here means working toward the 30m certification limit — and with sites like La Catedral (32m) and Agujero Azul (35m) among the most popular on the island, having the Advanced card opens up the full Puerto del Carmen dive map. Navigation dives in these waters involve working around the variety of volcanic terrain, sand channels, and reef structure that characterizes the area.

Photography is listed as one of the adventure dive options. The center dives sites with diverse photographic potential: the gorgonian fields at La Roncadera, the groupers and shrimp in the cave systems, and the Museo Atlántico's 300 sculptures at 14m.

The package includes study materials, instructor time, all five open water dives, full dive equipment, accident insurance, and PADI certification processing. Minimum age is 12. The course is the prerequisite for the Rescue Diver program.
