Deep Diving

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty at DiveHeaven extends your certified depth range from 18 to 40 meters through three open water dives. The course covers dive planning for deep profiles, proper use of dive computers, and gas consumption management at depth — practical skills that translate directly to the deeper sites around the East Gilis.

Sites like Katak Drop (to 40 meters) and Lawang Wall (to 35 meters) are exactly the kind of terrain this course prepares you for. Lawang Wall in particular runs reef sharks at depth and has a light current that carries you along — a different experience from the shallower beginner sites and one that rewards controlled buoyancy and calm gas management.

The specialty includes both theory and open water components. Upon completion you hold the SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification, which is recognized internationally and allows buddy diving to 40 meters.

For divers already certified to Open Water level and looking to extend their range during a Lombok trip, this three-dive specialty is a realistic single-day or two-day addition to a fun diving package.
