Descripción del Curso
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course at Calamargigante is your next step to expanding your underwater horizons beyond the foundational Open Water certification. This program is structured around five distinct adventure dives, designed to build confidence and enhance your diving skills. Two dives are core requirements: Deep Diving, which introduces planning for dives to manage physiological effects and challenges of greater depths, and Underwater Navigation, focusing on honing compass skills and effective navigation using fin kicks, visual cues, and time. These mandatory dives ensure a solid progression in your diving capabilities.
The remaining three adventure dives are chosen from a diverse range of options, allowing you to personalize your learning experience based on your interests. Popular choices include underwater photography, perfecting buoyancy control, fish identification, search and recovery techniques, wreck exploration, and the unique experience of night diving. Each of these adventure dives can also count as the first dive towards a corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course, offering a clear pathway for further specialization and skill development within the PADI system.
This advanced certification is accessible to divers aged 15 and older who hold an Open Water Diver certification. For younger participants, certain adventure dives may have age-related restrictions. If you are already a PADI Adventure Diver, you can achieve the Advanced Open Water Diver rating by completing just two additional adventure dives. The course utilizes the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver manual and video for self-paced study, followed by personalized knowledge reviews and dive planning sessions with your instructor to schedule your practical training.
While Calamargigante provides basic scuba equipment, specialized gear may be necessary depending on your chosen adventure dives, such as a dry suit or specific equipment for search and recovery. It is a requirement for all students to have their own diving insurance. The center offers instruction in multiple languages, including German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for a global clientele. The sea temperature in this region can vary, with averages ranging from 13°C in January to a high of 27.4°C in August, offering diverse conditions throughout the year for your training.
