Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver course offered by Progetto Sub Sardegna is your gateway to the underwater world, providing the foundational certification for recreational scuba diving. This comprehensive program equips you with the essential knowledge and skills to safely explore marine environments to a maximum depth of 18 meters. The curriculum is structured into manageable segments, beginning with theoretical knowledge that can be conveniently accessed through PADI's e-learning platform, allowing for flexible study at your own pace before arriving at the dive center.

The practical component involves confined water sessions, where you'll practice fundamental scuba skills in a controlled environment, such as a pool or shallow bay. These sessions are crucial for building confidence and mastering essential techniques like mask clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control. Following the confined water dives, you will progress to four open water dives. These dives take place at actual dive sites, allowing you to apply your newly acquired skills in a real-world underwater setting under the direct supervision of your instructor.

Throughout the course, instructors emphasize safety procedures, proper equipment use, and environmental awareness. You'll learn how to plan dives, manage potential issues, and communicate effectively underwater.
