SSI Scuba Diver

The SSI Scuba Diver is a shorter certification than the Open Water Diver, covering theory through online learning and including dives in both pool and open water. At Buddycheck, the open-water component takes place at the Sorpesee or Möhnesee.

This certification is designed for divers who want to get in the water and dive with a professional, rather than diving independently. It's a practical choice for someone who isn't sure yet how deeply they'll pursue the sport, or who wants a faster route to being able to dive on holiday under guidance.

At 239 EUR, it's significantly cheaper than the full Open Water Diver. Buddycheck also offers a direct upgrade path from Scuba Diver to Open Water Diver for 160 EUR, so the qualification can be extended later without starting from scratch.

A Referral Diver option at the same price (239 EUR) allows students to complete all theory and pool training in Germany at Buddycheck, then finish the open-water component at a dive centre abroad — useful if someone is planning a dive holiday and wants to arrive already through the pool phase.
