AIDA 2 Star

The AIDA 2 Star certification is designed for individuals who are already comfortable in open water, such as snorkelers or confident swimmers, and wish to progress into deeper freediving. This course builds upon basic techniques, focusing on safety procedures and introducing participants to the physiological aspects of freediving. It equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to explore the reef and deeper waters safely and confidently.

The curriculum includes theoretical review classes, confined water sessions to master breath-hold techniques, static apnea, and dynamic apnea. Crucially, it involves open water sessions where students practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, adhering to proper buddy and safety procedures. The training depth range for this course is typically from 0 to 20 meters, allowing for significant skill development and exploration.

Deepsea Freediving provides this certification with a focus on a fun and personal learning experience. The instructors emphasize developing self-control, refining breathing techniques, and enhancing relaxation. The course structure includes a minimum of five sessions, encompassing theory, confined water, open water, and yoga/breathing practice to learn powerful relaxation techniques. All AIDA Freediving courses include the necessary freediving gear, excluding wetsuits, and offer excellent logistics in prime locations.

Participants will learn advanced equalization techniques, such as the Frenzel maneuver, and how to manage the risks associated with deeper dives. The course aims to improve performance and safety skills, making students more competent and aware freedivers. The small instructor-to-student ratio, often a maximum of two students per line, ensures personalized attention and effective feedback, crucial for mastering the techniques required for deeper dives.
