EFR (Emergency First Response) PADI

The Emergency First Response course covers primary and secondary care — CPR, AED use, and basic first aid — in the context of diving emergencies and general situations. At Divers Diving it's priced on request and can be combined with the Rescue Diver course if you need both credentials at the same time.

PADI requires EFR (or equivalent recognized first aid) as a prerequisite for Rescue Diver, so taking it here in Platja d'Aro before moving up the certification ladder is a practical option. The course doesn't require any diving ability — it's entirely surface-based, which also makes it suitable for non-divers or family members who want first aid training.

The skills taught are directly applicable on a dive boat or at a beach entry point, where getting emergency services involved takes longer than it would in an urban setting. Knowing how to manage a panicking or unresponsive diver at the surface while the boat returns to shore is a scenario the course addresses directly.
