Basic Diver

The SSI Basic Diver course at DiveHeaven covers the foundational skills needed to dive alongside an SSI instructor to 12 meters. It's a short, practical introduction — two dives, no extended classroom time — that suits travelers who want more than a Discover Scuba session but aren't committing to a full certification on this trip.

At 12 meters, you're in the mid-range of sites like Kura-Kura Bay and Coral Bloom, both of which have calm conditions and healthy reef life at that depth. Turtles, moray eels, cuttlefish, and reef fish are regular encounters at these sites.

The course is offered in German, English, and Spanish, and fits within a single day for most participants. All dive trips depart between 8:00 and 9:00 from the dive center and return by early afternoon.

This is a sensible stepping stone if you're uncertain about committing to three full days for the Open Water Diver but want hands-on experience beyond a trial dive. You dive with an instructor throughout — not buddy diving independently — which keeps the format accessible without the pressure of assessment dives.
