What is diving?

Diving, also known as scuba diving, is an activity in which people immerse themselves in oceans, seas, lakes or rivers, using specialized equipment to explore the underwater world. This equipment includes a mask, fins, a snorkel, a wetsuit (sometimes), and most importantly, a scuba tank and regulator assembly that allows them to breathe underwater. Scuba diving allows divers to explore the beauty of coral reefs, observe marine life, discover ancient shipwrecks, and experience the feeling of weightlessness in the water.

Why consider taking a diving course?

A diving course provides you with fundamental knowledge and skills to dive safely and independently. Upon successful completion of the course, you will obtain a diving certification, which allows you to dive and explore the seabed anywhere in the world (as long as the level of the dive corresponds to the level of your certification) and also be able to rent diving equipment in diving centers.

Minimum age

In most cases, you must be at least 10 years old to enroll in a diving course. However, there are special programs for younger children.

Physical Health

You must be in reasonable health to dive safely. Often, you will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire before enrolling in a course. In some cases, if you have pre-existing medical conditions, you may need a doctor's approval to dive.

Swimming Skills

You don't have to be an expert swimmer, but you should be able to swim and stay afloat.

No, you generally do not need to have previous diving experience to enroll in a beginner course. Beginner diving courses are designed specifically for people with no diving experience. These courses typically offer a comprehensive introduction to diving and are structured to teach you the essential skills needed to dive safely and fun.

In general, diving courses usually last between 2 and 4 days, but it all depends on the experience you choose, the ability of each student and the organization of the diving center. In the description of each course you can find the exact duration.
