4 cursosCurso Open Water Diver
SSI Open Water Diver training at this La Azohía facility takes place over a period of four days. Students can complete their theoretical learning either through online modules or in-person sessions at the classroom. Practical training is conducted in the sea, allowing candidates to develop essential skills in a real marine environment. The training program is designed to build water comfort, proper body positioning, and situational awareness under the guidance of Mirta or Miguel. Throughout the four days, students practice key safety exercises and buoyancy control techniques. This helps lower air consumption and ensures safe habits from the very beginning of their diving path. All necessary gear is provided for the duration of the training, along with diving insurance and registration in the SSI digital application. After completing all academic and practical sessions, candidates receive both physical and digital SSI Open Water certifications. The package also includes a custom school t-shirt, photography of the underwater practice, and an optional diploma.
Advanced Open Water
The SSI Advanced Adventurer program provides a structured introduction to five different diving specialties. This course allows certified divers to expand their skills under direct supervision without committing to a full specialty program. Practical training takes place in the coastal waters of La Azohía, focusing on advanced navigation and buoyancy. Divers can choose five individual specialty previews, which typically include deep diving, night diving, navigation, and ecology. Each of these trial sessions counts as credit toward the corresponding full SSI specialty rating. Training sessions are planned around the Cabo Tiñoso marine area, exposing students to varied depths and rock formations.
Mermaid Course
Mirta Moreno Linares conducts the SSI Mermaid training inside the school's dedicated facilities. The program covers the fundamentals of swimming with a monofin, breath-holding techniques, and safety protocols for mermaid activities. Practical training begins in a controlled environment before moving to open water settings. Students learn proper body posturing, equalization techniques, and how to manage potential emergencies underwater. The course is open to anyone looking to enter the world of mermaiding, focusing heavily on safety and grace. Upon successful completion, candidates receive a digital SSI Mermaid certification.
Ocean Mermaid
The Ocean Mermaid course takes mermaid training out into the open sea environments of La Azohía. Under Mirta's guidance, certified mermaids learn how to adapt their skills to waves, currents, and natural coastal conditions. The course is designed to increase depth comfort and open water safety. Training includes surface swimming techniques, buddy system protocols, and environmental awareness while wearing a monofin. All sessions are structured to build confidence in natural aquatic systems, emphasizing respect for local marine ecosystems. Successful candidates receive their SSI Ocean Mermaid rating.
