Advanced Open Water

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course at Ecoactivity is your next step to expanding your underwater horizons beyond the foundational Open Water certification. This program is meticulously designed to build your confidence and enhance your diving capabilities by introducing you to a variety of new diving experiences and adventure dives. It's important to note that you don't need to be an 'advanced' diver to enroll; the course itself is structured to advance your skills. Participants will collaborate with a PADI instructor to tailor their learning path, selecting from a diverse range of Adventure Dives.

Two core dives are mandatory for all students: Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving. The Deep Diving Adventure Dive focuses on the physiological effects and challenges associated with diving deeper, teaching essential planning strategies. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive sharpens your compass skills and introduces more sophisticated navigation techniques using fin kicks, visual cues, and timing. The remaining three dives are chosen based on your personal interests, allowing for a degree of specialization and exploration into areas like buoyancy control, night diving, wreck diving, or underwater photography.

Ecoactivity leverages an interactive, web-based system for the theoretical components of popular Adventure Dives, such as Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving, allowing you to study at your own pace with the online manual. The practical, in-water sessions are conducted with a certified PADI instructor, ensuring hands-on skill development. While basic scuba gear is required, you will also need a compass and a dive knife or tool, with additional specialized equipment potentially necessary depending on your chosen Adventure Dives.

This course is open to PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers aged 12 and older, with younger divers (10-11 years old) able to achieve a Junior Adventure Diver certification. Completing the Advanced Open Water Diver course is a significant step for those eager to gain more experience, develop new skills, and unlock a wider array of diving opportunities. Each Adventure Dive completed can also count as the first dive toward a corresponding PADI Specialty course, offering a direct pathway to further education and certifications.
