The Open Water Diver certification, recognized internationally under ISO standard 24801-2, is your entry point into the world of recreational scuba diving. At La Sal Diving Center Alicante, this foundational course equips you with the essential knowledge and skills to safely explore underwater environments to a maximum depth of 18 meters, always accompanied by a buddy holding an equal or higher certification. The program is structured to provide a thorough understanding of diving theory, confined water skill development, and practical open water dives, ensuring you are well-prepared for your first dives as a certified diver.

La Sal Diving Center prioritizes a personalized learning experience, avoiding large groups to ensure ample one-on-one instructor attention. You can complete the theoretical portion online at your own pace before arriving, followed by practical sessions. These include initial dives in shallow, confined water, progressing to open water dives. The first two open water dives are limited to 5 meters, with subsequent dives reaching the 18-meter certification limit. This approach ensures a gradual and confident skill acquisition process.

Safety and quality are paramount. Instructors adhere to strict safety and hygiene protocols, creating a secure learning environment. The course typically spans 3 to 4 days, incorporating a minimum of 80 minutes of open water training, usually spread across four sessions totaling around 120 minutes. This dedicated practice time allows for mastery of essential diving techniques. Upon successful completion of all theoretical and practical components, including a final exam, you will receive your Open Water Diver certification, valid worldwide. La Sal Diving Center also assists with SSI profile creation or setup.

Alicante offers a pleasant climate for diving year-round, with sea temperatures averaging around 20.4°C, though this can fluctuate. For instance, May sees sea temperatures around 19.8°C, while October can reach up to 21.1°C, providing comfortable conditions for your training. The center is certified by SSI, and instructors are proficient in multiple languages, including German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian, ensuring clear communication and a comfortable learning experience for a diverse range of students.
