Niveau 2 FFESSM

The N2 certification at Andrésy Plongée covers two depth levels within the FFESSM system: PA20 (autonomous to 20 metres) and PE40 (supervised to 40 metres). This is the certification that unlocks independent diving — N2 holders can dive without an instructor alongside, provided conditions fall within the PA20 envelope.

The club separates N2 divers into their own group category on the site (plongeurs autonomes), which reflects how the club organises its outings. Once at N2, members join the autonomous diver track and have more flexibility in how they participate in club trips.

Pool training in the fosse continues to play a role at this level — refining buoyancy, emergency procedures and the skills tested in open water. The theory component is also more substantial at N2 than at N1. For divers who completed their N1 at Andrésy, the instructor team and pool environment are already familiar, which smooths the progression.
