Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver certification at Kamadhoo Dive & Water Sports is your global passport to the underwater world, designed for beginners with no prior experience. This entry-level course equips you with the essential knowledge and skills to safely explore depths of up to 18 meters. You will learn crucial diving principles, including dive planning, equipment usage, and environmental awareness, through PADI's structured curriculum. The program is divided into three key phases: theoretical development, confined water training, and open water dives.

Confined water sessions are conducted in a controlled environment, such as a pool or a calm, shallow ocean area, allowing you to master fundamental scuba skills. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you will practice techniques like buoyancy control, mask clearing, and regulator recovery until proficient. This hands-on approach ensures you build confidence and competence before progressing to the open ocean.

Following the confined water phase, you will complete four open water dives at various dive sites around Kamadhoo. These dives provide the opportunity to apply your newly acquired skills in real diving conditions, exploring the vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life the Maldives are known for. You'll practice navigation and problem-solving techniques, making your first real dives a rewarding experience. Kamadhoo Dive & Water Sports instructors are adept at guiding students through these dives, ensuring a fun and safe learning progression.

Upon successful completion of the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will be a certified diver, able to rent scuba equipment, obtain air fills, and dive with a buddy anywhere in the world without direct supervision.
