The SSI Freediver course at Azure Diving Center equips you to explore the underwater world on a single breath, reaching depths of up to 20 meters with a buddy in open water. This program builds upon fundamental freediving principles, focusing on advanced breath-hold techniques, efficient equalization, and streamlined underwater movement. It is designed for individuals serious about pursuing freediving as a sport or recreational activity, offering a structured path to certification.

Participants will gain a deep understanding of freediving physiology, mastering relaxation methods, controlled breathing patterns, and strategies to manage the urge to breathe. The curriculum includes extensive pool sessions to hone static and dynamic apnea skills, alongside open water dives for depth progression and essential buddy procedures. Safety is paramount, with thorough training on recognizing and responding to potential risks.

Azure Diving Center's experienced instructors guide students through the challenges and rewards of freediving, utilizing specific dive sites in Halkidiki ideal for depth training. The course runs from April to October, leveraging the best sea conditions with an average temperature of 20°C during peak season. This structured approach ensures students are well-prepared for open water freediving and fosters a profound connection with the marine environment.

To enroll, participants must be at least 12 years old. The course typically spans 16 to 20 hours, spread over several days to allow for effective skill development and acclimatization. Upon successful completion, you will be certified as an SSI Freediver, opening doors to further freediving specialties and competitive freediving.
