Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver certification is the most recognized entry-level scuba certification globally, and Divers Cove in Florida offers it with a strong focus on safety and personalized instruction. Since 1988, they have maintained a perfect safety record, training divers in small groups of no more than four students. This ensures each student receives ample instructor attention, allowing for skills to be mastered comfortably and confidently. The course structure is designed for efficiency and comprehensive learning, beginning with PADI eLearning which takes approximately 8-12 hours of self-paced study at home to cover the theoretical aspects of diving.

Practical training includes confined water (pool) sessions to master essential skills in a controlled environment, followed by real-world diving experiences. This certification process typically spans three days, often spread over one or two weekends, and can be completed within 2-3 weeks from the start of eLearning. The course culminates in a beach dive and a boat dive at actual South Florida dive sites, exposing you to marine life and allowing you to apply your newly acquired skills. The goal is to ensure you are competent and comfortable before diving independently, reaching depths of up to 18 meters as per PADI standards.

Divers Cove includes a comprehensive package with the Open Water certification. Beyond the training dives and equipment rental, you receive a free post-certification dive led by an instructor, offering valuable practice and feedback.
