Advanced Open Water

Elevate your diving capabilities with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) course at Buceo La Herradura. This program builds directly on your Open Water certification, introducing you to five distinct adventure dives designed to expand your underwater horizons. Two core dives are mandatory: the Deep Adventure Dive, which safely guides you to explore depths up to 30 meters, and the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive, essential for confident orientation. The remaining three dives allow for personalization, letting you choose from exciting specialties like Night Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search and Recovery, or Underwater Naturalist, tailoring the experience to your specific interests.

Buceo La Herradura conducts these practical sessions from their boats, providing efficient access to diverse dive sites. The course typically spans 2 to 3 days, offering an immersive learning environment. The average sea temperature in La Herradura hovers around 18.6°C, with warmer months like July and August reaching up to 28.8°C, making for comfortable diving conditions throughout much of the year. This advanced training is certified by PADI, a globally recognized leader in diver education.

This course is ideal for certified Open Water Divers who have logged at least 12 dives and wish to gain more experience and refine their diving techniques. It serves as a crucial stepping stone towards more specialized training and unlocks a wider array of diving possibilities. The curriculum emphasizes practical application, with each adventure dive featuring theoretical instruction followed by hands-on experience in the sea. This structured approach ensures you become a more confident and capable diver.

Included in the 375 EUR course fee are the student kit, complete equipment rental, the five practical sea dives, and comprehensive insurance. To enroll, you must possess a medical certificate for diving. Participants are also required to bring their own dive flashlight or focus, a surface marker buoy (SMB), and a wrist compass, ensuring you are fully equipped for the advanced skills you will learn and practice during the course.
