Cursusbeschrijving
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course at Nerja Dive Resort is your next step in expanding your underwater capabilities. Building directly on your Open Water Diver certification, this program focuses on practical experience across five distinct adventure dives. Two dives are mandatory: Deep Diving, which introduces you to the physiological effects and challenges of deeper water, and Underwater Navigation, honing your ability to plan and execute dives using compasses and natural references. These core dives will take you to a maximum depth of 30 meters (100 feet), a significant increase from your initial certification.
Nerja Dive Resort offers a diverse environment perfect for the remaining three elective dives, allowing you to tailor the course to your interests. Options often include Drift Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night Diving, or Underwater Photography, providing a taste of various specialized diving activities. The clear waters off the coast of Nerja, with an average sea temperature of 18.6°C, offer excellent conditions for honing these skills. While specific visibility figures vary, the region is known for its marine life and interesting underwater topography, making each dive a potential exploration.
This advanced certification is a gateway to exploring more challenging dive sites and gaining greater confidence in your diving abilities. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver qualification is recognized globally and is a prerequisite for many further specialty courses and dive experiences. By completing this course, you'll be better equipped to plan and execute dives, understand the risks associated with deeper water, and navigate more effectively, opening up a wider range of dive sites for future adventures.
Nerja Dive Resort, a PADI-affiliated center, ensures professional instruction throughout the course. The resort caters to an international clientele, offering instruction in multiple languages including English, Spanish, French, and German, among others. This multilingual approach ensures that divers from various backgrounds can comfortably participate and learn. The focus is on hands-on learning in real diving scenarios, guided by experienced instructors who prioritize safety and skill development. The course is typically completed over two to three days, maximizing your time in the water and allowing for thorough practice of new techniques.
