SSI Deepdiver Specialty

The SSI Deep Diving specialty extends a diver's certified range beyond the 18 m limit of the Open Water brevet. At Scuba Nova it is listed at €245 and is explicitly noted as a prerequisite for several continuing education courses.

Deep diving without appropriate training creates real risks — nitrogen narcosis, faster air consumption, decompression obligations — and the specialty addresses planning and execution for dives beyond 18 m. For divers aiming at the Advanced Open Water Diver or any technical pathway, this is a practical early step.
