BASIC DIVER

The Basic Diver programme at Ocean Dreams is a two-session introduction to scuba. The first session takes place in shallow water — controlled conditions where you get comfortable with the equipment before going further. The second session moves to open water, giving you real diving in the sea off Los Cristianos.

This is the starting point for anyone who wants to try scuba without committing to a full certification track. It covers the fundamentals of breathing underwater, buoyancy control basics, and how to use the gear safely. Two dives, handled by an SSI-certified instructor.

The south of Tenerife has calm, warm water — sea temperatures run between 22 and 24°C — which makes the open water component accessible even for people who have never put on a wetsuit before. Visibility at 30 m means you can actually see the seabed clearly during your first experience.

At €130, this is also the same price as the Basic Diver package listed in their activities pricing for non-certified divers, which includes two dives with gear. For those who enjoy it, the progression path continues to the Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses at the same centre.
