Cursusbeschrijving
URSRSA prepares candidates for two FFESSM teaching qualifications: the initiateur and the Moniteur Fédéral 1er Degré. These are the certifications that allow holders to teach diving under the FFESSM framework — the initiateur being the entry-level teaching qualification, the Moniteur Fédéral 1er Degré the first full instructor grade. Having both preparation pathways available within a single club is not standard; it places URSRSA among a smaller group of FFESSM-affiliated structures with the qualified staff to run this level of training.
The club's 74 years of operation mean that the instructors and technical directors running these programmes have extensive experience with the FFESSM examination requirements at this level. Candidates going through initiateur or moniteur preparation at URSRSA are embedded in an active club environment — teaching real groups of beginners and certification candidates rather than simulating teaching situations. That practical exposure is the most effective preparation for the real exam conditions.
Preparation draws on the full range of URSRSA environments: pool sessions at Piscine Garibaldi for controlled teaching practice, Chamagnieu for open-water instruction contexts, the Meyzieu fosse for deeper scenarios, and Mediterranean trips for sea instruction experience. The club's regular baptême evenings and Niveau 1 courses serve as live teaching practice grounds for candidates preparing for teaching qualifications.
All preparation is conducted in French. Candidates interested in initiateur or moniteur preparation should contact the club directly to discuss current availability and the prerequisites for entry onto the preparation programme.
