ADVANCED DIVER

The IANTD Advanced Diver course at Zona de Inmersión is structured to elevate your diving capabilities beyond the foundational Open Water Diver level. This program requires participants to be at least 12 years old, possess a medical certificate, and have logged a minimum of 15 hours of bottom time, building upon your ACUC or equivalent Open Water certification. The curriculum is designed to enhance your confidence and competence through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing you for more complex underwater environments.

This advanced training involves approximately 8 hours of theory spread across two sessions, complemented by a 3-hour pool session to refine skills in a controlled setting. A significant component of the course includes four essential open water dives. These dives are specifically designed to introduce you to crucial specialties: one night dive, an introductory wreck or cavern penetration with a visible exit, and a dedicated underwater navigation dive. Instructors may incorporate additional dives based on local conditions, ensuring a well-rounded practical experience.

The course fee of 185 EUR covers theoretical instruction, pool sessions, the use of heavy equipment, all didactic materials, and the processing of your certification. While heavy equipment rental is included, it is recommended that students possess their own dive buoy, spool, slate, and compass for specific exercises. It is important to note that the cost of open water dives, transfers to the dive sites, accommodation, and meals are not included in the course price, aligning with the structure of the Open Water Diver program.

To successfully complete your IANTD Advanced Diver certification with Zona de Inmersión, you must attend a weekend open water excursion organized by the center. This practical component is vital for applying the advanced techniques learned and demonstrating proficiency in varied conditions. Zona de Inmersión emphasizes developing safe, competent, and well-prepared divers, focusing on skill development rather than just issuing certifications.
