Aspiring dive professionals can embark on the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) at Lembongan Dive Center, a comprehensive 14-day program designed to transform experienced divers into PADI Instructors. This intensive course, held in the vibrant diving locale of Nusa Lembongan, is led by a PADI Course Director and supported by Staff Instructors, ensuring personalized guidance. The curriculum is meticulously adapted to the current diving industry's business landscape, preparing candidates for a successful professional career. The IDC program integrates both the Assistant Instructor (AI) and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) components, covering extensive theory and refining diving skills.
Candidates will engage in practical teaching scenarios, including academic presentations, confined water skill demonstrations, and open water teaching evaluations. This hands-on approach ensures participants are thoroughly equipped to teach PADI courses effectively, emphasizing the development of strong teaching abilities and a deep understanding of PADI standards and procedures. The course includes the Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) Course, training participants to teach vital CPR and First Aid skills. Unlimited assistance during the course, practice tests (Mock IE), and specific diving business training are also provided.
To join the PADI IDC, candidates must meet several prerequisites. Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and hold a PADI Divemaster certification or an equivalent rating. A minimum of six months as a certified diver and recent CPR and First Aid training (within the last 24 months) are mandatory. Furthermore, a log of at least 100 dives, including experience in night diving and navigation, is required. Medical fitness for diving, certified by a physician within the last 12 months, is also a strict requirement.
The IDC package at Lembongan Dive Center covers course fees, essential materials, and all training components. However, it's important to note that breakfast and dinner, lodging, and personal expenses incurred during the IDC and EFRI courses are not included. The overarching goal of this program is to equip participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to successfully pass the PADI Instructor Examinations (IE) and emerge as competent PADI Diving Instructors, ready to share their passion for the underwater world with new divers.
