The PADI Enriched Air Diver specialty at Buceo Pichicuy teaches you to plan and execute dives using nitrox — oxygen-enriched air mixtures that extend your no-decompression limits, particularly useful on successive dives in a single day. At a center that runs double-tank expeditions as standard, having this certification pays off immediately.
The course is available with eLearning, letting you complete the knowledge portion online before arriving. Practical training covers how to analyze gas mixtures, set your dive computer for nitrox, and understand the oxygen exposure considerations that come with higher O2 percentages.
The course costs CLP $200,000. It's the most popular PADI specialty globally, and at a center that already fills tanks on site, the infrastructure to support nitrox diving is there.
This specialty also counts toward one of the five specialties required for the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification.
