Basic Diver

The SSI Basic Diver course at Rhea Dive offers a structured introduction to the underwater world, serving as an ideal precursor to the Open Water Diver certification. This program builds upon the SSI Try Scuba Diving experience, providing participants with essential diving knowledge and practical skills. The theoretical portion is conveniently delivered digitally, allowing for flexible learning prior to arrival in Porto Santo. Upon arrival, the focus shifts to hands-on training, beginning with crucial skills practice in a swimming pool environment. This includes mastering underwater breathing and buoyancy control under the guidance of an SSI instructor.

Following the pool session, students progress to an open water dive. This sea dive allows participants to apply their newly acquired skills in a natural marine setting, directly supervised by their instructor. Successful completion of the course results in the SSI Basic Diver certification. This certification is valid for six months and permits dives in the sea under the supervision of an SSI professional, making it a valuable stepping stone for aspiring divers.

This course is designed for individuals aged 10 and above who meet the medical requirements for diving. It combines theoretical understanding with practical application, ensuring a solid foundation for future diving adventures. The skills and knowledge gained are directly transferable to the SSI Open Water Diver course, offering a clear pathway for continued education and exploration.
