Niveau 1 in the FFESSM system authorises diving with a guide to 20 metres — the PE-20 rating. At Sevran Plongée, formation runs across the pool sessions on Fridays, with the club's team of instructors leading training in a group setting. The 40 regulators and BCDs available means equipment access is not a barrier.
Theoretical content is covered in dedicated classroom sessions, with both in-person and remote options available according to the club's setup page. The support goes from initial contact with scuba all the way through to the federation exam.
Pool work builds the practical skills — buoyancy, mask clearing, regulator recovery, controlled ascents — before candidates progress to open-water dives. The club organises outdoor outings to quarries like Roussay and Beaumont during the season, which serve as the practical open-water component for levels in training.
Once Niveau 1 is awarded, members can continue directly into Niveau 2 preparation within the same club without changing teams or training environment.
