Advanced Open Water

The Advanced Open Water course runs on the same Tioman Island weekend format as the Open Water — Friday evening departure, two nights, back Sunday. Upcoming trips in May 2026 show it running back-to-back weekends, so scheduling options are reasonably frequent through the year.

The course covers five adventure dives, two of which — Deep and Underwater Navigation — are mandatory. The Deep dive takes students to 30 metres in open water, which at Tioman means actual open-water conditions rather than a controlled pool environment. That's a meaningful difference from centres that run the deep dive in sheltered sites.
