Elevate your diving career by enrolling in the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) at Aquatech Diving Centre. This professional-level program is meticulously designed to transform PADI Divemasters into confident and capable PADI Instructors, ready to share their passion for the underwater world. The IDC is structured into two integral components: the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. Candidates can opt to complete these consecutively for a seamless transition or individually, depending on their career progression goals.
The Assistant Instructor course lays the foundational groundwork, focusing on the PADI System of diver education and enhancing leadership capabilities. As an AI, you will gain the experience to teach academic presentations, assess surface skills, and conduct specialty courses like Peak Performance Buoyancy and Project AWARE. Furthermore, you'll be qualified to lead Discover Scuba Diving experiences and teach Emergency First Response courses upon completing your own EFR Instructor training. This comprehensive preparation ensures you are well-equipped for the next stages of instructor development.
Building upon the AI foundation, the Open Water Scuba Instructor program further refines your teaching prowess. To achieve PADI Instructor status, a minimum of 100 logged dives is required, though training can commence with as few as 60. The curriculum is intensive, involving in-depth knowledge development sessions, rigorous confined water skill reviews, and practical open water workshops and presentations. Aquatech Diving Centre offers this complete IDC for £700.00 GBP, with the AI course priced at £300 and the OWSI program at £400, assuming materials from the AI course are used for the OWSI portion. The essential IDC Crewpak and eLearning are available for an additional £495 when purchased alongside the course.
To embark on this transformative journey, candidates for the AI course must hold PADI Divemaster certification, be at least 18 years old, possess 60 logged dives, and have been certified for a minimum of six months. For the OWSI program, AI certification is a prerequisite, along with being certified for at least six months and having completed 60 logged dives, including specific experience requirements. Proof of recent CPR and first aid training is also mandatory. Aquatech Diving Centre, a PADI-certified facility, provides a structured environment to meet these prerequisites and excel in your instructor training.
