This entry-level certification course is structured to teach students the skills needed to become autonomous divers, leading to a lifetime PADI license valid down to 18 meters. The program takes a minimum of three days and is divided into theory and practical training. Students can complete the theoretical modules online via PADI eLearning before arriving in Cartagena, or in person with an instructor. The practical sessions begin with confined water training in a calm, shallow environment to practice regulator recovery, mask clearing, and buoyancy control. The course concludes with four open water dives conducted over two days at separate sites around Tierra Bomba and Baru islands. These training dives allow students to apply safety procedures in a natural marine environment while exploring local coral walls and shipwrecks. The course fee covers all PADI registration and processing fees, study materials, and full brand-name equipment rental. The package also includes private boat transfers to the dive sites and daily day passes to relax at the Blue Apple Beach Club after the training sessions.
Discover Scuba Diving
This one-day introductory program is designed for individuals with no prior diving experience who want to try breathing underwater in the Caribbean. The activity takes place at our Tierra Bomba Island base, utilizing the calm, warm waters around the resort. The day starts with a brief theory session on land, where a PADI instructor explains the essential safety rules, hand signals, and how the equipment functions. Following the theory, participants gear up with professional rental equipment, including a regulator, mask, fins, and BCD jacket. The practical training begins with a confined water session in a shallow, protected area to practice basic breathing and safety skills. Once comfortable, participants complete two open water dives at separate sites around Tierra Bomba Island, reaching a maximum depth of 12 meters. This guided ocean entry provides an easy way to observe local coral formations and marine life with an instructor close by. The package includes private boat transfers from Cartagena, snacks and drinks, full gear rental, and a day pass to enjoy the Blue Apple Beach Club pool and facilities after the dives.
Advanced Open Water
This advanced training program is designed for certified Open Water divers who want to gain more confidence, go deeper, and explore specialized diving activities. The course is completed in two days and consists of five distinct adventure dives. The curriculum includes two mandatory modules: Deep Diving down to a maximum of 30 meters to understand pressure effects, and Underwater Navigation to master compass headings. The remaining three adventure dives are chosen by the student from options such as Wreck Diving, Night Diving, Drift Diving, and Perfect Buoyancy. The adventure dives are held at various sites around Tierra Bomba and Baru islands, providing experience in different currents, depths, and underwater terrains. The course helps divers build confidence and safety margins when planning more complex dives worldwide. The price includes the PADI Advanced Open Water manual, pre-dive briefings, PADI registration fees, and full equipment rental. Private boat transfers to the sites and day passes to access the Blue Apple Beach Club facilities are also provided for both training days.
Scuba Diver
This basic certification course is designed for individuals who want a lifetime diving license but have limited time during their stay in Cartagena. The program is a subset of the full Open Water course, covering the first three theoretical modules and confined water sessions in two days. The certification is valid worldwide, permitting the holder to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters when accompanied by a certified dive professional. The academic training includes studying the first three chapters of the PADI manual and completing classroom quizzes with an instructor. The practical training includes confined water practice followed by two open water dives at separate sites around Tierra Bomba Island. The course counts toward the full Open Water Diver certification, allowing students to upgrade at a later date without repeating any training. The package includes the PADI manual, certification processing fees, full brand-name gear rental, and boat transfers. Our club is based in Annecy Seynod, France. The local office and equipment facility are located at 10 avenue Jean Clerc, 74600 Seynod, right next to the Île Bleue swimming pool.
The club is equipped with a 9 m³/h compressor and four 50-liter buffer cylinders capable of charging tanks up to 350 bar. This allows for quick refills at the end of dives.
From early November to mid-April, we run weekly pool training sessions on Wednesday evenings from 20:00 to 22:00. We train on reserved lane eight at the Piscine de l'Île Bleue in Seynod.
Yes, Aquateam welcomes young divers starting from eight years of age. We provide morphologically adapted gear, including regulators, wetsuits, and buoyancy jackets, to ensure their comfort and safety.
We are affiliated with the French FFESSM federation (number 14740361) and have youth and sports approval W741000322. Our training and visual inspections conform to national standards.
Yes, members regularly organize group travels. We have hosted annual diving excursions to Safaga in Egypt from 2023 through 2025, as well as outings to the Mediterranean and Red Sea.
