Established in 1983 in Chicago, USA, Underwater Safaris is the city's sole PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center. Boasting an 84-degree in-store pool and over 3,000 sq. feet dedicated to diver education, equipment sales, rentals, repairs, and travel, it provides a comprehensive experience for divers of all levels.
As a PADI and SSI affiliated center, Underwater Safaris offers a wide array of certification courses. These range from introductory programs like Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water Diver to more advanced offerings such as Advanced Open Water, Enriched Air Nitrox, Divemaster, and even the Instructor Development Course. They also provide specialized courses in Freediving, Snorkeling, Boat Diving, and Wreck Diving, catering to various interests within the underwater exploration community.
Underwater Safaris' facilities include a temperature-controlled pool perfect for training, a dive shop stocked with a diverse selection of scuba and freediving gear, equipment rental services, air fills (including nitrox), and repair capabilities. Furthermore, they facilitate shore and boat diving excursions, including notable wreck dives in Lake Michigan, and organize both domestic and international dive travel.
