Sri Lanka Diving Tours, based in Negombo, Sri Lanka, is a distinguished dive center with nearly three decades of experience dating back to 1998. As a PADI and SSI certified institution, they offer a comprehensive range of courses, from Discover Scuba Diving to Instructor Development and Technical Diving. They also specialize in snorkeling, boat diving, and night diving.
With operational bases in various locations including Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Negombo, Colombo, Dikwalla, and Mirissa, Sri Lanka Diving Tours invites divers to explore Sri Lanka's best dive sites. They prioritize safety and personalized attention, limiting dive groups to just 4-5 people to ensure a safe and tailored experience for each diver's comfort level. They offer both boat diving and shore diving opportunities.
The organization stands out as the only certified technical dive center in Sri Lanka, offering technical diving courses in Batticaloa and Colombo. Furthermore, they are deeply committed to animal and environmental welfare, regularly leading coral reef clean-ups and inviting guests to join free of charge in preserving marine life. What people ask before booking
The best time for sightings is typically between late February and March, during the whales’ migration around the island. However, sightings are also possible into April and beyond, depending on conditions.
The DSD program includes a briefing with a certified instructor, a shallow water session for skill practice, and one open water dive up to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 feet). Full diving equipment and a professional instructor are provided.
To enroll, you must be at least 18 years old, hold Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver certifications, have completed CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months, have at least 40 logged dives, and provide medical clearance to dive.
Sri Lanka Diving Tours is the country's only certified technical dive center, offering specialized training and expeditions, particularly around wrecks like the HMS Hermes, led by experienced pioneers like Feli Fernando.
To ensure personal guidance and safety, dive groups are limited to just 4-5 people, with dive groups planned according to experience levels.
