Niveau 3 FFESSM

The Niveau 2 at Noa Plongée is a ten-dive programme (five bi-plongées) combined with theoretical instruction, all done in the morning slots departing at 7:30 from the Saint-François marina. Each bi-plongée follows the standard format: two consecutive dives with a 45-minute surface interval and a snack on board the LE NOA. The technical content focuses on assisted ascents (intervening on a diver in difficulty) and underwater navigation. These are skills you practice in real open-water conditions off Guadeloupe, not in a pool. The site selection across the 20+ available spots means the training dives vary by conditions — depth, visibility, marine life. Niveau 2 unlocks autonomy in the mid-range zone (up to 20 m) under the dive director's authorisation, and supervised access to 40 m with a monitor. Accessible from 16 years old; autonomous diving only from 18. A medical certificate of no contraindication is mandatory. This is the pathway for divers who want to move beyond the supervision of Niveau 1 and start planning their own dives. The club covers this under FFESSM/ANMP, and both instructors hold the qualifications to take candidates through the full programme.

Plongée découverte

The re-adaptation dive at Noa Plongée is designed for certified divers who haven't been in the water for over a year, or who have very few logged dives and want to rebuild confidence before joining the regular bi-plongée groups. It runs every afternoon at 14:00 from the Saint-François marina, back by 16:00. The dive is shallow — maximum 6 metres — and focused on buoyancy checks, weighting verification, and a refresh of basic techniques. It's a structured session, not just a guided fun dive: there's a skills component before the exploration part, and the instructor adjusts the programme to what the diver actually needs. All equipment is included, and the session is reserved for certified divers only (Niveau 1/Open Water minimum). It's a practical entry point back into the water before committing to a full morning bi-plongée. Once the re-adaptation dive is done and the diver is comfortable with the fundamentals, the natural next step is joining the morning bi-plongées, which access sites up to 25 metres across more than 20 different spots off Saint-François and the surrounding islands.

PE 12

The PE12 is the entry-level international certification offered at Noa Plongée, delivered under the FFESSM/ANMP framework. It qualifies you to dive down to 12 metres within a group of up to four divers supervised by an instructor. Three dives plus theory, spread over three afternoons in the Saint-François lagoon. Each afternoon session runs from 14:00 to 16:00. Every dive has two parts: skills practice and exploration along the coral reef barrier. The lagon conditions — shallow, calm, warm — are well suited to learning the fundamentals without distraction. At the end of the course you receive a PE12 qualification card. It's internationally recognised, so you can use it at other dive centres around the world. A medical certificate of no contraindication, dated within the last year, is mandatory before the first session. For those who want more depth without committing to the full Niveau 1 pathway, the PE12 is a solid standalone qualification. The Niveau 1, which goes to 20 metres and is run from the same base, is the natural continuation.

Niveau 1

The Niveau 1 at Noa Plongée is the first full scuba certification under FFESSM/ANMP, and it's built around two distinct phases that mix lagoon practice with open-water exploration. Five dives in total, plus theory sessions back at the club after the dives. The first three dives take place in the Saint-François lagoon in the afternoons (14:00–16:00), working along the coral reef barrier. Each session combines skill exercises with a proper exploration segment — not just pool drills. The last two dives are morning bi-plongées, departing at 7:30 and returning by 12:00, with a 45-minute surface interval and snacks on board. These two dives are open-water exploration dives to consolidate everything learned in the lagoon. On completion, you can dive from 0 to 20 metres within a group of up to four divers supervised by a monitor. You receive a Niveau 1 card and a logbook. The minimum age is 12 years, and autonomy (diving without a monitor) only applies from Niveau 2 onwards. A medical certificate of no contraindication issued within the last year is compulsory. The club's lead instructor Jean-Christian ROTGER holds BEES1/MF1 DEJEPS and is also a PADI Staff Instructor and SSI Instructor, so the training quality is consistent regardless of which agency pathway you prefer.

PE 40

The PE40 qualification at Noa Plongée allows a certified diver to reach 40 metres while still under instructor supervision — without having to complete the full Niveau 2 curriculum. Four dives over two mornings of bi-plongées, departing at 7:30 and finishing by 12:00. Each morning consists of two consecutive dives with a 45-minute surface interval on board, snacks and drinks included. The format is the same as the regular bi-plongées — two different sites, boat-based, from the Saint-François marina. The difference is that the dives are structured around the specific skills and depth exposure required for the PE40 qualification. At the end, you receive a PE40 qualification card. This is a FFESSM/ANMP certification, valid internationally. A medical certificate issued within the last year is mandatory. This pathway suits divers who hold Niveau 1 and want to access deeper sites — like Le Banc des Vaisseaux or La Désirade — without committing to the ten-dive Niveau 2 programme. Both are reachable with Noa Plongée's boat, the LE NOA.

RIFAP

The RIFAP (Réactions et interventions face à un accident de plongée) is a first aid and rescue certification specific to scuba diving activities, offered at Noa Plongée under the FFESSM framework. It covers emergency response to dive accidents — oxygen administration, in-water rescue, and surface management — with a curriculum downloadable as a PDF from the club's site. At Noa Plongée, the RIFAP is embedded within the Niveau 3 curriculum, but can also be taken as a standalone certification. The instructors are qualified to deliver it: Jean-Christian ROTGER holds EFR Instructor qualification alongside his BEES1/MF1 DEJEPS and SSI credentials. This is a practical, skills-based course — not just theory. The Saint-François marina base and the warm, accessible water of the Caribbean make it straightforward to run realistic rescue scenarios without extreme conditions getting in the way. A medical certificate of no contraindication, issued within the last year, is required before starting.
