5 cursosBAPTEME
The baptism at Plongée Passion Carry runs about 25 minutes at 5–6 metres depth, from the boat, with one dedicated monitor for each participant — no shared supervision. That ratio matters on a first dive: the monitor can focus entirely on your comfort rather than managing a group. The boat drops you on one of the coastal sites around Carry-le-Rouet, where the seabed holds posidonia meadows, nudibranchs and the usual Mediterranean mix of wrasse, blennies and sea bream. Not a pool trial — a real dive over natural terrain from the first breath. Everything is included: transport on the RIB to the site, full equipment (cylinder, regulator, BCD, wetsuit, fins, mask, weights), surface safety cover with a BEES-qualified monitor, insurance, and a diploma certificate at the end. No paperwork beyond showing up and wanting to do it. The course is open to any age. For children under 8, the centre asks you to contact them directly. No medical certificate is required for this format. The centre recommends spring or later for better water temperatures, though baptism dives run year-round.
Pack Découverte ou PE 12
Three baptism-format dives over the shallow sites around Carry-le-Rouet, each at no more than 2 metres depth, one monitor per child throughout. The pack gives children a chance to repeat the experience and build familiarity with breathing underwater across multiple sessions rather than a single dip. No medical certificate required. Parental authorisation is mandatory. No minimum age, though for very young children the centre recommends contacting them directly to discuss suitability. The format stays discovery-only — no technical exercises, no assessment. All three dives include boat transport to the site and full adapted equipment. The €330 price covers equipment, insurance and the three sessions in full. For children who want to move beyond exploration into actual certification — FFESSM bronze, silver or gold — the separate technical training programme (5 dives, €530) is the next step, available up to age 12.
Niveau 1
The Niveau 1 at Plongée Passion Carry certifies divers to dive in the 0–20m zone accompanied by a monitor, anywhere in France and internationally. Six sessions over natural terrain on the Côte Bleue sites — Petit et Grand Mornas, Tombant de Frapao, Chenal de l'Elevine and others — rather than a pool environment. Every exercise is validated in open water as it's completed correctly; there's no final written exam. Theory materials are sent by email at registration so you study at home before arriving. The in-water theory component then reinforces what you've already read. Assessment is continuous: each exercise gets signed off in your training guide as completed, not scored at the end. At €560 for six sessions, the price includes boat transport to the sites, theory support, full Scubapro equipment, insurance, and the international diploma card. If you own all four equipment items (mask, fins, wetsuit, BCD/regulator), the price drops to €500. A Nitrox qualification can be added to the Niveau 1 for a supplement of €110, which the centre recommends for both safety and cost reasons over time. The combined Niveau 1 + PA12 autonomy module (8 sessions, for adults) runs at €790 and delivers two international diplomas at the end. Minimum age is 12. A medical certificate of non-contraindication is advised, along with parental authorisation for minors. All instructors hold Diplôme d'État qualifications.
Formation Technique Enfant (Plongeur Bronze/Argent/Or)
Five dives — one per day, maximum — leading to one of the FFESSM youth qualifications: plongeur de bronze, d'argent or d'or, depending on aptitude. Available for children up to age 12, conducted over the shallow sites of the Côte Bleue from the centre's RIB. This is technical training, not repeated baptism dives. Each session builds on the last, working toward the minimum technical competencies for autonomous evolution in scuba equipment. The progression is assessed per child based on what they demonstrate in the water. A medical certificate of non-contraindication to scuba diving is required. Depending on the doctor's assessment, an ENT examination with audiometry may be included. The medical certificate is valid for 6 months or 1 year for children under 12, and 1 year for those older. Parental authorisation is mandatory. The €530 fee covers all five dives, full equipment, the FFESSM course card (diplôme) and FFESSM licence. Water temperature minimum 12°C, maximum 25 minutes per dive.
Plongeur Autonome 12 m (PA12)
Seven sessions on the Côte Bleue, covering autonomous team diving in the 0–20m zone — without a monitor, with one or two partners of equivalent level — under a dive director. This qualification opens access to the shallower wreck sites and the gorgonian walls around Carry without requiring instructor accompaniment. The course includes theory sessions covering the specificities of hyperbaric diving, with theory materials sent by email before the first session. Practical dives consolidate Niveau 1 skills and introduce the techniques needed for buddy-pair management. Assessment is continuous. At €630, the price covers seven sessions with boat transport, theory support, full Scubapro equipment, insurance and the international diploma. With your own four-piece kit, the price is €550. Optional add-ons: Nitrox qualification at €110 supplement, or Drysuit (Vêtement Sec) at €90. Minimum age is 15. Niveau 1 and some exploration dives already logged are required. Medical certificate of non-contraindication advised.
