The PADI Cavern Diver specialty course is designed for certified divers who want to explore volcanic caves safely. The training teaches the techniques needed to enter overhead environments while staying within the natural light zone. The program covers specialized equipment use, line handling, silt prevention techniques, and gas management planning. Tenerife features many volcanic tunnels and caves that serve as natural classrooms for this training. Students complete four open water dives at selected sites such as Los Cerebros or Palm Mar Cave. Instructors guide divers through narrow passages to practice reel handling and emergency protocols. The course takes one to two days to complete and requires a minimum age of eighteen. The price covers four training dives and the course manual. Divers must show good buoyancy control and buddy communication skills to enroll in this specialty.
PADI Junior SCUBA Diver
The PADI Junior Scuba Diver course is an entry-level program designed for children aged ten and older who want to learn how to dive. This course is a subset of the full Open Water certification, making it a good choice for families with limited time. The training is conducted in Costa Adeje and includes three classroom sessions, three confined water pool sessions, and two open water boat dives. Practical water training begins in the safety of shallow water where students learn basic scuba skills. The two open water dives are completed from one of the center's speedboats, reaching a maximum depth of twelve meters. Under the supervision of a PADI instructor, young divers practice buoyancy control and safety habits. The course fee covers the PADI digital training materials and the rental of child-sized scuba gear. Group sizes are kept small, with a maximum of three students per instructor to ensure safety. Upon completion, junior divers receive a certification that allows them to dive under the supervision of a professional.
